Technology in the honeybee house

I'm watching Ina Garten's show on Amazon Prime on my dad's computer while working/playing on my own laptop.

We don't have cable TV at home.
I think we did have for the first year of our marriage but for the last 6 years, we never had cable TV.
It's really really easy for me because I don't watch TV. If there is a show or movie I want to watch, I like to watch them when I feel like to watch it, not when it's just happened to be on air. (I know there is that... downloadable Tivo like thing now, geez, I can't even remember what it's called.) However, my husband lived all his bachelor life with TV always on in the background. So we compromised and got netflix. Neither of us are into sports or news or reality TVs. I guess we are not the people who need to know the most current trend through TV, so netflix is perfect for us.

So we have netflix and it's great for my husband and the kids. Only TV shows I would watch are Food Network and HGTV and always hoped that one day there will be a way to just buy that specific channel (instead of subscription to tons of unnecessary channels).

Then I found out that Amazon Prime's instant stream videos have lots of Food Network and HGTV shows! They have seasons and seasons of their popular shows!!! I have Amazon Prime membership because I used to buy EVERYTHING from there but never looked into their stream videos because I was satisfied with netflix. I looked into their lineup when I was looking for some of the TV shows which are no longer available on netflix- and I found a bunch, like Wonder Pets, Backyardigans and Go Diego Go. But I am just super excited that there are shows I can watch now. :) If you have Amazon Prime, it may worth a while to check out what they have.

On another note, it's been really hot here in California for the whole week. With no proper air-conditioning in my parent's new place, this sweet ICED latte keeps me sane. I just can not function when it's hot. I hope it gets cool soon but... we are going back to New Jersey in less than a week!

I'm still working on curriculum and materials for Sweet Boy. All the lesson plans are set but I still got lots and lots of printing to do when I go back.

It's been a good summer vacation. Staying with my family for last month and a half really helped me to get ready for another year with kids. I hope to do my 110% and come back here again next year :)
