Latest Food Addiction : Heirloom LA Truck

I don't like to go out to eat PERIOD.
However, I occasionally go for takeout food and my latest favorite food place meets all my need because it is a food truck!

Oh, Heirloom LA Truck, please drive all the way out to New Jersey.
Or better yet, have you thought of relocating?
But I guess then they will have to sacrifice their wonderful home grown produces so I will just have to go every week while I'm here to satisfy my addiction.
(BTW, I'm currently in California in LA area to be more specific, staying with my parents and sister with Sweet Boy and Happy Girl and staying here for the rest of the summer.)

If you are in LA area and would like to find out more about Heirloom LA, you can follow them @heirloomla at instagram. They post the night's menu beforehand. (Their menu seems to change daily)

Today's menu was:

(Image captured from Instagram because I couldn't go to the truck in person today)

My heart (and stomach) settled on the Lasagna Cupcake with Short Rib but when my sister got to the truck at around 7pm (they are usually there from 6pm to 8pm) it was sold out. BOO :(
I got Braised Beef Shank Panini and it has to be the best Panini I have ever had.

It looks little burnt from the outside but it is not. It's toasted with butter, just the way I like it.
I can't even imagine how they can make their meat so moist and tender!
Oh and the potato salad.... WOW...
I am a big fan of potato salad and I am also very picky when it comes to mayonnaise and this potato salad just blew me away! The ratio of mayo to mustard seed is just perfect. Of course they must have added many more magical things in there but whatever it is, don't ever change.

In my opinion, Heirloom LA's food are very bold tasting.
It's one of those food that make every single pallat of your tongue breakout into dancing.
However, negative side affect to the boldness is that you easily get tired of it.
I actually find their boldness in food very pleasing because even small portion satisfies me.

(Please excuse Happy Girl's tiny hand in above two pictures. She's just dying to get her hand on them too!)
Whatever they do to their food is magical and that magical touch is everywhere.
My sister had the Meatball Pappardelle and of course their sauce is delicious and meatball just melts in your mouth. What actually got me to think highly of Heirloom LA was the fact that their pasta was so tasty.
When I make pasta, the pasta itself doesn't taste like anything. It's like white canvas just waiting to be smothered with sauce. But their pasta is perfectly seasoned and so good even by itself.

We also got a Strawberry Cobbler Cupcake which we are saving for tomorrow...
but... one confession to make is that I took one bite already.
I personally liked the olive oil cupcake I had last time but this one is amazing as well.

I think they are little pricey considering how cheap all the other food are in LA but they don't come short of those expensive gourmet restaurants.

I am truly addicted to them and I WILL enjoy them every week until I leave... (sob)
I hope to find more of delicious food trucks in the area.
(but I'm afraid I already have found the best one)
